Lava, Foggy Mornings and Humid Days

lava-oceanI noticed that during foggy mornings and humid days driving to the office and back home (approx 20 miles mostly highway), my car sends me an email through Autotalky.com that the trip MPG is above 40.  My car regularly does between 33 – 36 MPG.  These messages were the reasons why I thought water mist/fog injected to the air intake might replicate that effect.  When water is heated it expands approximately 1400x in volume, thus, creating extra pressure on the pistons.

It was just a thought until i read this article about throwing cold water at volcanoes to create pressure from steam to run turbines generating geothermal energy.

Lucky that the lower end of temperature of lava is around 1292 F which is also the approximate temperature inside a gasoline internal combustion engine.  A close indicator of the temperature inside the car engine is the catalytic temperature captured by the OBD2 adaptor using Torque Pro and Autotalky.com.

This might just work.  The next question is how much water mist/fog?  That will need to be tested.

We need to help out in anyway we can. But people are busy. Global future for our children is almost a second thought too far.  Our current energy use and its emissions are not sustainable.  Newer cars can be cleaner with new technology.  But older cars can be cleaner, too.  Learn it here.
